Feb is here…and no snow for the Olympics!

It is February 1, 2010 today and we are 11 days away from the start of the games. Excitement is in the air…and things are starting to take shape. My son and I dropped my wife off at work Saturday morning, and we decided to go visit my Sister and her family in North Van. The wife works in Vancouver, so we thought we would go through downtown to get over there, and see what was happening with preparations! Unfortunately, there really was not much to see. Everything is still fenced off and covered up waiting for the big unveil!
There are lots of road closures as you would expect so you can not get to close, but there is an increasing visual of security at the moment. The barricades are becoming manned as the various venues are being swept for security. I guess that means we are getting real close now! Time is just ticking away…
Of course my son had a great visit with his younger cousins in the North Van Palatial manor! My Brother in law had to take off to go to school, but I got in a nice visit with my sister, trying to plan out a family vacation with my side of the family. We might head up to Kelowna…but we will see!
Sunday was brunch with the wife’s family at my Mother and Father in-laws as we needed to have a meeting regarding the family business and the direction we want to take it in. No one has really but much work into it, although everyone wants a piece of it! It just seems to be a money pit at the moment, and the only ones putting any money in are my wife and I. Oh well, that is another story…for another day. So…we where all in agreement, that more effort needs to be put in by all members of the family…otherwise I will be pulling the plug on this myself! Or just taking all ownership over in a fully hostile takeover!
Sunday night…involved having a sleepover with one of the wife’s co-workers children who is 3 years old. My son is 4, and they get along great, playing very well together. However, the noise level in the house was raised a few decibels…and I figured it was a good time to get out for a run.
I went out and did my usual 5km route. It is just a straight out and back through the neighborhood, that is fairly level. Felt good, and am trying to up the run to walk ratio. I am not quite at the point of running the full amount as of yet, but it is getting closer.
As well, Sunday was my weigh in day for the weightless challenge. Again, I am not happy with the loss this week. 246lbs. Down 1 pound? WTF?!?!?!?!?! I feel myself getting a little frustrated. This week, I am really going to document what I eat, how I sleep and how I am exercising. I really need to find out what I am doing wrong, so I can make adjustments and start losing weight. At the moment, this is not about winning money…it is about losing weight!
Tribork out for now…
