Friday July 16th

Well, today is another exciting day of lounging by the lake, in 30+ degree weather.  Nice to be able to go for a swim when it gets to warm!
Really, the weather has been fantastic!  So peacefull and quiet here as well!  Lots of time to think...and reflect on changes that need to be made!
We have been experimenting a little with some recipes, and the family with us have been our quinipigs.  So far, everything has been a success!  I thouroghly enjoyed the BBQ Cherries.  YUMMY!
Today will be another day of heading back to Fort Steele.  They have a Steam engine that Goobieman just loves going out on!  We should get a few rides today.  As well, we are going to take part in a geocaching experience their.  Nice to have a "treasure hunt" for a 4 year old!
Back soon!

Tuesday July 13, 2010

Well, we woke up this morning...and had a great view of the mountains and some fresh snow.  Not the weather that we would normally expect to have this time of year at the cabin, but...it is still nice and peacefully quiet.
Goobieman is having a blast...playing in the dirt, but is getting very antsy about wanting to go swimming.  The sun should come out tomorrow, and we will get back into the normal swing of summer vacation weather!
Today though, we are going to go geocaching around the lake, and then head off to Fort Steele to ride the steam train!
Tonight, I will head off for a run with the dog around the lake.  Should be fun!
Tribork out!

Tuesday July 6th

It is just after 6am and I am sitting here enjoying a coffee while watching a Canadian in the "Virtual Lead" of the Tour De France. Well done Ryder Hesjedal! He rides for Garmin Transitions, and with Christen Vande Velde having to abandon the event due to injuries from Stage 2, so they send Ryder out attacking first thing! At the moment, they are just under 100km from the end, and he has a 3 second lead. I wonder if now we might see some coverage on the Canadian sports sites? It is amazing to me how little they talk about it. Oh well, a discussion for another time.
Last night I got home, and checked the mail...and low and behold...my Road ID band had arrived! Very excited about this. Now when I am out there and get hurt I will have some ID on me! Just a great product! I will have a more in-depth review later in the week as I get out their with it!
Today is Tuesday, and I have taken the day off...so that I can get some things done today with my son. We are leaving for our cabin in 5 days, and are gone for a week and a half, so I have a lot to get organized. The cabin is in the East Kooteny region of British Columbia, and will be about a 10-12 hour drive, depending on how many bathroom breaks we have to take for the dog, a 4 year old and my wife. I am so looking forward to getting up their because it will be all about relaxation. I have gone to the library and have 10 or so novels to read. I will post some pictures from when we are up their. I am going to head out and do some running when we are their so, their will be some trail runs and hikes. I just can not wait to get there!
Talk to you soon...
